Indigo Love of Reading Grant Recipients

Sometimes, a single phone call can change a life forever.

But when a school gets a phone call telling them that they have been chosen as an Indigo Love of Reading Foundation school, it changes the lives of thousands. It empowers the teachers and principals who have dedicated their lives to the cause of childhood literacy, it supports the parents who want to see their sons and daughters achieve, and it inspires each child to go wherever their imagination takes them.

Recipient schools from previous years have used their funds to participate in provincial reading competitions and develop unique science learning programs. They have invited theatre performers, opera singers and ballet troupes into their schools. And, of course, they have filled their libraries with new and exciting reading materials to encourage their students to read and learn. We can’t wait to see what this year’s Love of Reading recipients accomplish!

We congratulate the twenty 2013 grant recipient schools on the creative, heartfelt applications they submitted, and we applaud their courage and initiative.
